Diesel generator sets, the lower the external temperature, the more difficult the unit is to start. The main reasons are as follows:
1. Battery capacity problems, when the battery temperature is reduced, its capacity will also be significantly reduced for the following reasons. The electrolyte does not easily diffuse, and the chemical reaction rate of the bipolar active material becomes slow. As the impedance of the electrolyte increases, the battery voltage drops, and the 5HR capacity of the battery decreases as the battery temperature drops. If the battery capacity is changed, the starter motor cannot be driven, which makes the diesel generator set difficult to start. In response to this problem, the battery capacity can be appropriately increased when the battery is selected so that even when the battery capacity is lowered, there is sufficient capacity to drive the starter motor.
2. Diesel atomization is not good:In the case of a decrease in temperature, the phenomenon of waxing of the diesel oil with a mismatched temperature and temperature may occur, which may result in poor atomization during fuel injection, resulting in failure of the generator set to start. The solution to this problem is to select the appropriate number of diesel fuel according to the conditions of the lowest temperature of the day.
3. Large oil viscosity:This problem is the same as the diesel atomization problem. It is recommended to select the oil that matches the problem and conditions or add a water jacket heater to heat the oil and other liquids to avoid the problem that the diesel generator set is difficult to start.
