What is the impact of the speed of the screw conveyor?

When designing and manufacturing a screw conveyor, the characteristics of the material to be transported should be considered firstly. Whether there are factors such as abrasion, viscosity, water content, acidity, and alkalinity, etc., the appropriate model can be designed for different materials. Secondly, the running speed of the screw conveyor is determined for different materials, and the material particle size affects the slip, impact, and abrasion. The higher the number of revolutions, the greater the amount of material slip.

However, it is not possible to increase the conveying capacity by increasing the rotational speed of the drive shaft. Some materials will have a large impact force on the spiral blade and increase the wear of the blade and the U-shaped groove. In this case, it is necessary to select a larger model to effectively increase the conveying capacity. The large-diameter screw shaft is used to enhance the torsional strength of the tube shaft, and the number of hanging bearings is reduced to increase the throughput of the material. The motor with high power should be accurately selected according to the amount of transportation and the distance. If the power is small, the material transportation speed is slow. The motor is easy to burn due to excessive load, and the power will increase the production cost.
